To my dear patients who are mothers,As a working mother myself, I know firsthand the challenge that modern day mothers face in today’s society. Running a busy practice and being there for my 17-year-old son has been the most rewarding experience of my life. My mother likewise made many sacrifices for me. It is because of unrelenting love for my child and guidance from my family that I feel I am capable of managing my career and motherhood. That is why I feel Mother’s Day is so important; a day set aside to honor and show appreciation for the lifetime of dedication and unconditional love each mom provides. It is fantasticreally. We all deserve this day ladies, let us relish in it.We’d also like to give a heartfelt greeting to our very own Marcela, a medical assistant in our office that will be celebrating her very first Mother’s Day with her baby Isabella. And, I must mention, it will be bittersweet one for me as my beloved son Juan will be leaving in the fall to attend the University of Miami (Go Canes!)Astonishing how quickly they grow up! To all my younger patients who are now entering this phase of their lives, trust me on this--appreciate every single precious moment; it all passes in a flash. Finally, we will end this note as any good Mother’s day card should, with a Hallmark-esque quote.A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie. ~Tenneva JordanLove,Marta I.
