Ask successful people what the recipe is for achieving such a lofty status, and chances are most of them will tell you it was their pursuit of failure.   Maybe that sounds strange, but think about it for a minute.   When we’re willing to risk failure, we’ll try anything.   It’s time to embrace the idea that in order to succeed one can not be afraid to fail.Failure can hold you back only if you fear it.  Was I afraid that I might fail when I first started my business?  Sure I was, but you have to allow yourself to think big and look at failure as just one of the natural components of your journey.  Actually, I tell my staff all the time, “We don’t make mistakes here.  We don’t have failures.  We only learn how to do things better next time.”  I truly believe that.  When we look back on our lives, the only real failures were those times when we didn’t get back up, learn from our mistake and start over again.  It’s not a failure if you took away some valuable information.  Successful people know that the best laid plans sometime fail.  It’s just an expression, but perhaps what we should say is that the best laid plans sometimes turn out different than expected.  That’s when you need to stop and ask yourself, “What lesson am I taking away from this?”We are not going to close every deal, we are not going to win every game.  But the games we don’t win and the deals we don’t close are certainly not to be included on our list of “personal failures.”  Instead include them on your list of educational opportunities.  You will find that you don’t waste time feeling sorry for yourself and that the next time you’re at bat, you know exactly what you’re going to do.  Success will be yours, as soon as you learn to fail.  It happened for me, and it’s happened to every successful entrepreneur I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with.  One of my favorite quotes is from the late Peter Drucker.  Drucker was a management consultant who through his writings became known as one of the most widely influential thinkers on the subject of personal productivity.  He said, “Those who have never made a mistake usually work for those who have dared to make one. “Now get out of your own way and be the success you were meant to be.  I dare you.   Saen Higgins is the worlds leading authority on investing in tax lien certificates.  He is the only expert speaking and training on tax liens today that actually continues to invest in tax lien certificates himself.   A self-made multi-millionaire, Saen has inspired audiences around the globe with his wealth building strategies. www.higginsnow.com
